It is written in the [[book of 1 John]] that Jesus is the "advocate." In some versions of the Bible, “advocate” is rendered as “helper.” It is because the Greek word for both helper and advocate is ''parakletos''. While Jesus was on earth as the ''Parakletos'', He taught the truth to the disciples so that they could enter the kingdom of heaven. Even later, when Jesus was in heaven, he defended them before the Father as the ''Parakletos''.

वकील (सल्लाहकार)चाहिँ παράκλητος(पाराक्लेटोस्)[१] भन्ने ग्रीक शब्दको अनुवाद हो । यसले येशू ख्रीष्ट अथवा पवित्र आत्मालाई जनाउँछ, जसलाई प्रेरित यूहन्नाले बाइबलमा ४ पटक प्रयोग गरेका छन् ।

‘पाराक्लेटोस्’को अर्थ

येशूज्यूले क्रूसमा मृत्यु भोग्नुभन्दा अघिल्लो रात ‘अर्को सल्लाहकार’लाई उल्लेख गर्नुभयो ।

‘अर्को सल्लाहकार’ भन्ने वचनद्वारा येशूज्यूले, उहाँ स्वयम्‌ चेलाहरूमाझ शरीरमा रहनुभएका सल्लाहकार हुनुहुन्छ भन्ने तथ्यलाई प्रकट गर्नुभयो । अनि आफैलाई पवित्र आत्माको रूपमा सङ्केत गर्नुहुँदै उहाँले भविष्यमा “अर्को सल्लाहकार” देखा पर्नुहुनेछ भन्नुभयो ।[६]

येशूज्यूले “सल्लाहकार अर्थात्‌ पवित्र आत्मा आउनुहुनेछ र उहाँले सबै कुरा सिकाउनुहुनेछ” भन्नुभयो र फेरि “म गइरहेछु, र तिमीहरूकहाँ आउँछु” भन्नुभयो । फेरि भन्नुपर्दा, पवित्र आत्माले दोस्रो आगमनका येशूज्यूलाई जनाउँछ । अर्थात् सल्लाहकार, येशूज्यू फेरि अर्को सल्लाहकार, पवित्र आत्माको रूपमा आउनुहुनेछ भन्ने वचन हो । पवित्र आत्माले सन्तहरूलाई सबै सत्यता सिकाउनुहुनेछ र तिनीहरूलाई स्वर्गको राज्य प्रवेश गर्न सहयोग गर्नुहुनेछ ।[७] साथै सल्लाहकारको रूपमा, उहाँ वकीलको भूमिका निर्वाह गर्नुहुँदै अन्त्यसम्मै सन्तहरूको साथमा रहनुहुनेछ ।[८][९][१०]
